Inside J.C. Penney Ahead Of Earns & Consumer Confidence Figures

Confidence among U.S. consumers jumped more than forecast in February as Americans adjusted to a higher payroll tax and signs of a recovering housing market spurred faith in the future. J.C. It’s been a tough week for J.C. Penney (JCP).

Over the course of two days, a man and women stole an upwards of 150 pairs of Levi’s jeans from the retailer’s Macon Mall location in Georgia, amounting to over $11,000 in theft, WFAA reports. Pots, pans, and a set of kitchen knives were also stolen from this location, meaning the total value of stolen merchandise comes out closer to $11,300.

Local authorities are currently investigating surveillance footage of the incidents in hopes of finding suspects. So far they can see a man and woman entering the store on Sept. 14, and then leaving with 40 pairs of unpaid Levi’s jeans. The following day, another man came in with a duffel bag, filling it up with an additional 40 pairs of jeans before leaving. Then on Sept. 16, security saw another man stealing Levi’s, who authorities believe is the same man from the day before.

Security tried to approach the man on his third trip to the store, but he ran out of the store before they could catch him. He left behind a duffel that was holding eight pairs of jeans.
