Amazon (AMZN) is making it even easier for Prime subscribers to share photos with their friends and family.
The company announced on Tuesday the launch of Family Vault, a new feature that falls under Prime Photos. This feature, which rolled out two years ago, already offers members unlimited photo storage. But with Family Vault, they can invite up to five people to see what’s posted in their Prime Photos account.
“Prime members love the benefit of unlimited photo storage but often struggle to collect and organize photos across multiple devices and accounts into a single, shareable archive,” Amazon’s director of Prime Photos, David Nenke, said in the press release. “We launched the Family Vault to make it easy for family members to safely store and share all their favorite moments.”
The new feature, which comes at no extra cost, implements smart search technology that allows members to search for pictures based on a specific person, place, or date. They can even search different terms to find relevant pictures, as well as order photo books, cards, and prints directly from their account. It also includes an extra 5GB of storage for videos and other files that can be customized to automatically add any new photos or videos to the Vault.
