U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a government agency that enforces laws governing border control and immigration, has not endorsed Donald Trump for President, as the Republican nominee has repeatedly claimed during his campaign.
Trump reiterated during Wednesday night’s third and final debate that “ICE last week endorsed me”—something he has been boasting about since the second debate in St. Louis earlier this month.
The real estate mogul does, in fact, have the support of the National Immigration and Customs Enforcement Council, a union that represents 5,000 federal immigration officers and law enforcement support staff. Trump issued a statement about the union endorsement on Sept. 26. But the agency itself does not make political endorsements.
