If you were planning on boarding an Amtrak train with your Samsung Galaxy Note 7, think again.

The railroad service has banned passengers from traveling with these phones, the Washington Post reports. Passengers are also prohibited from having these phones in train stations and on platforms. And if Amtrak officials find out a passenger has already boarded with the device, they will be asked to get off the train at the next stop.

“Because there is nothing more important than the safety of our customers and employees, we have decided to prohibit Samsung Galaxy Note 7 cell phones on Amtrak property due to potential serious safety risks,” Amtrak officials said, according to the Post. “This ban includes Amtrak trains, Thruway buses, facilities, stations, platforms, Amtrak vehicles, and as an item carried within a vehicle on Auto Train.”

Due to faulty batteries, some Samsung Note 7’s were catching fire and, in some cases, even exploding. The company first issued a massive recall of the device before halting production of the phone entirely earlier this month.

Amtrak’s decision comes after the FAA decided to ban the device on all of its flights. According to CNNMoney, travelers who are caught trying to fly with a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 could have their phone confiscated and “may face fines.”

The FAA ban promoted Samsung to open exchange booths at airports, according to a previous report. It’s not clear if Amtrak will do the same at its train stations.

Coins2Day has reached out to Amtrak and Samsung for comment and will update the story if we receive response.
