On-Cor’s ready-to-eat chicken patties have been recalled after three consumers found blue plastic pieces inside.
OSI Industries, the company that produces the patties, recalled approximately 21,403 pounds of the product, which was shipped to retailers in Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, North Carolina, Ohio, and Wisconsin, according to a notice from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The contaminated products were manufactured “around the time a trim repair was made on belt material,” the USDA reports.
Consumers can find out if they bought the recalled patties by looking for the Aug. 5, 2017 best-buy date, and the establishment number P-5615 in the USDA inspection mark. The 35-ounce plastic packages are printed with “ON-COR Chicken Patties MICROWAVEABLE” and were produced on Aug. 5, according to the USDA.
Consumers who purchased the products are urged to not eat them, the USDA recommends. Instead, the patties should either be should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
