Republican candidate Donald Trump said he was confident about his prospects on Election Day. “We’re going to win a lot of states,” he said in a phone interview with “Fox and Friends.”
But then, in a rare moment of uncertainty, the real estate mogul added, “Who knows what happens ultimately?”
If Democratic rival Hillary Clinton wins, Trump says he won’t look back positively on a failed bid for the White House. “If I don’t win,” he said, “I will consider it a tremendous waste of time, energy and money.”
Trump claimed he has spent $100 million of his own money on his campaign. As of Sunday, Federal Election Commission reports show he’s invested far less — about $66 million of his own cash. Bloomberg News also reported that several wealthy business leaders didn’t follow through on their pledges to make big donations to Trump’s presidential campaign. The New York Times reported that Las Vegas casino mogul Sheldon Adelson had said he’d contribute as much as $100 million–the actual amount was perhaps $10 million.
He also claimed a lot of the polls are “phony” and repeated his claim that the media is “dishonest.” Fox News poll shows Clinton has a four point lead, 48 to Trump’s 44.
On Tuesday, Donald Trump says the presidential campaign has been an “amazing process” that put him in touch with the unfulfilled aspirations of the American people. He told the “Fox and Friends” anchors that “so many hopes and dreams that didn’t happen, that could have been helped with proper leadership.” Trump said his campaign is a “movement” and the American people are “incredible.”
Asked if he had any regrets, Trump said “sure, there’s things I would have done differently.” He didn’t name any.

Donald Trump’s eldest son, Donald Jr., told CNN that he thinks his father will “remain involved somewhat” if he loses the election. He said he hopes that the energy surrounding his father’s campaign “goes back to the people we are trying to fight for, the people who haven’t had a voice in a long time.”
Meanwhile, Eric Trump told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that if his father loses the election, he will concede if the results are “legit and fair.”
“If he loses and it’s legit and fair, and there’s not obvious stuff out there then without question, yes,” Trump will concede, said Eric Trump.
