After winning the presidency, Donald Trump showed that he clearly had no plans to listen to the complaints from Keith Richard, Mick Jagger, or any other member of the Rolling Stones. At his victory speech, Trump’s campaign played the band’s 1969 classic “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.”

While the song has been a popular choice for Trump campaign events, the Republican’s use of it has long angered the band. In May, the band requested that Trump stop playing the song, saying that they “have requested that they cease all use immediately.”

And when the then-candidate played the song at this year’s Republican National Convention, the band took to Twitter to declare that “The Rolling Stones do not endorse Donald Trump. You Can’t Always Get What You Want was used without the band’s permission.”

The feud between Trump and the Stones apparently goes way back. Keith Richards reportedly threatened to knife-fight Trump at a 1989 concert in Atlantic City.
