President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday said he settled his Trump University lawsuit because he did not have time for a lengthy trial, calling the settlement “the ONLY bad thing about winning the Presidency.”
Trump agreed to a $25 million settlement to end the lawsuits accusing the now-defunct Trump University of defrauding students, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced Friday.
“I settled the Trump University lawsuit for a small fraction of the potential award because as President I have to focus on our country,” Trump, who has boasted that he doesn’t settle lawsuits, said on Saturday. “The ONLY bad thing about winning the Presidency is that I did not have the time to go through a long but winning trial on Trump U. Too bad!”
