President-elect Donald Trump will stay on as an executive producer of Celebrity Apprentice, a Trump spokesperson confirmed Thursday.
The incoming commander-in-chief, who partly owns the reality game show series that he used to host, will retain his executive producer credit when it returns to NBC early next year. The news was first reported by Variety.
“Mr. Trump has a big stake in the show and conceived of it with [reality show creator] Mark Burnett,” Trump’s spokeswoman Hope Hicks said in a statement to Coins2Day.
The 15th season of Celebrity Apprentice airs Jan. 2, with actor Arnold Schwarzenegger as its new host.
It’s unclear how much Trump will be paid for the series. MGM, which has a majority share in Mark Burnett Productions, did not immediately respond to requests for comment Thursday.
