The Better Business Bureau revoked MyPillow’s accreditation earlier this week for its misleading advertisements—but the pillow’s inventor is defending his infomercials.
“It absolutely wasn’t fair,” CEO Mike Lindell told Coins2Day in a phone call Friday. “It was the most disturbing news.”
“I had to make a decision as a CEO and I’m going to live with that decision I made. So people got great deals for Christmas from MyPillow,” Lindell earlier told CBS News. “Whatever the BBB does now, that’s their choice.”’
The bureau slapped MyPillow with an “F” rating because the manufacturer had told consumers via ads that its product was on sale even when the bureau considered it to be at normal price.
The ads that got MyPillow in trouble will be replaced by the end of the month, Lindell told Coins2Day, noting that he had been planning on changing them even before the Better Business Bureau cut MyPillow’s rating. The ads will no longer feature the buy-one-get-one-free deal.
