Lyft has launched its on-demand ride-hailing service in 10 new U.S. Cities Thursday, rounding out its goal for the year to expand to 100 by the end of 2017.
Lyft will now be available in Tallahassee and Gainesville, Fla., Greater Maine, Lawton and Stillwater, Okla.; Beaumont, El Paso, Killeen, McAllen, and Waco, Texas.
The company kicked off the year by rolling out its service to 40 cities in January. A month later it followed expanded to 54 more cities. The 54-city launch included expansions into Iowa, Florida, Georgia, and Wisconsin.
Lyft is now available in 300 cities. The company has expanded its operations by 50% in the past three months.
To celebrate the launch, new passengers will be able to use the code LYFTLOVE17 to receive $5 off their first Lyft ride anywhere.
While Lyft continues to grab market share in the U.S., it trails rival Uber, which has a global presence. Uber has services in more than 70 countries and 460 cities, according to a spokeswoman. Meanwhile, Lyft only operates in the United States.
Lyft is reportedly pitching investors on a new funding round and hopes to net at least $500 million, according to a Reuters report earlier this month. If funded, Lyft would be valued between $6 billion and $7 billion, according to the report.
