Mark Cuban has no interest in being President—but still he did not rule out the possibility of running against Donald Trump in 2020.
When the Washington Post asked about his interest, Cuban responded “None. None.”
“I’m not the ceremonial type,” he said. “I’m a go-get-[stuff] done type. I’m a grinder, and I don’t know if that’s a good fit.”
“But at the same time,” he told the Post, “sometimes you got to do what you got to do.”
Cuban has had a fraught relationship with Donald Trump, as shown in February when the President tweeted about the billionaire businessman, saying he wasn’t smart enough to run for President.

During the 2016 presidential election, Cuban became an active supporter and surrogate of Trump’s opponent Hillary Clinton, and told the Post it was because of Trump.
“I knew Donald and I was concerned,” he said.
But his experience on the campaign trail, he said, showed him that voters were fed up with politicians, and wanted someone outside the system—hence Trump’s victory.
“I always thought people would vote based off logic and self-interest,” he said. “But at least this election, people voted out of frustration.”
