A small private jet was reportedly flipped upside down and sent diving 10,00 feet toward the Arabian Sea after getting caught in the wake turbulence of a superjumbo airliner earlier this year.

One of the nine passengers and crew traveling from the Maldives back to Berlin aboard the German-operated Bombardier Challenger 604 suffered serious injuries in the high-altitude drama, which occurred on Jan. 7, according to reports. Several others were treated in hospital.

Lingering G-forces from the passing Airbus A380, reportedly an Emirates aircraft, also caused irreparable damage to the executive jet, though the pilot was apparently able to regain control of the aircraft and make an emergency landing in Muscat, Oman.

The incident is currently being investigated by the German Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation, according to local media.
