Brits will no longer be able to buy Heineken beers — including Amstel, Sol and Kingfisher — at Tesco anymore.
Tesco, which is the largest supermarket in Britain, has decided to pull Heineken’s brands from its shelves after the the brewer had to increase its prices because of Brexit, the Guardian reports. In all, about eight Heineken brands — Tiger, Amstel, Sol, Kingfisher, Birra Moretti, Blind Pig Cider, Fosters Gold and Fosters Radler — were pulled from the shelves. However, Tesco will also stop selling larger pack sizes for 16 other beer brands including Heineken, Fosters, Strongbow, Kronenbourg 1664, and Newcastle Brown Ale. Overall, annual talks over pricing that resulted in a stalemate has left 24 of the 53 brands affected.
Much like Unilever, Heineken argued that inflation since the Brexit referendum has pushed up its costs, the Guardian reports.
The two are not expected to reach an agreement on pricing.
