Veteran broadcast journalist Ted Koppel had no qualms this weekend about telling Sean Hannity that he was bad for America.
The conversation between Koppel and the Fox News host appeared in a CBS’ Sunday Morning segment, in which Koppel said Hannity was contributing to the deepening political divide in the country.
Specifically, Koppel said that Fox News failed to clearly distinguish between what was opinion, and what was fact.
“Do you think we’re bad for America? You think I’m bad for America?” Hannity asked, as reported by CBS.
“Yeah,” was Koppel’s response.
Hannity followed that conversation up with a tweet, calling the incident “Fake Edited News.”

During that CBS segment, when Hannity said Koppel’s words were “sad,” Koppel responded:
“No, you know why? Because you’re very good at what you do, and because you have attracted a significantly more influential… people who are determined that ideology is more important than facts.”
