Hillary Clinton’s return to public life continues Friday with a speech at a Georgetown University ceremony in Washington, D.C.
Clinton will discuss “the important role that women can play in international politics and peace building efforts,” according to the university. She will also present four people with awards as part of the annual Hillary Rodham Clinton Awards for Advancing Women in Peace and Security through the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security.
“I am thrilled to be out of the woods, in the company of so many inspiring women,” Clinton said during an earlier speech at the annual Professional Business Women of California’s conference in San Francisco. “The last few months haven’t been exactly what I envisioned, although I do know what I’m fighting for: I’m fighting for a fairer, big-hearted, inclusive America.”
Clinton’s Georgetown speech will be her first appearances in D.C. Since attending Trump’s inauguration with her husband, former President Bill Clinton, in January.
