The U.K.’s Daily Mail newspaper has agreed to pay damages and costs to the First Lady Melania Trump over claims it made last year about her modelling career, the BBC reported.
The newspaper had reported allegations that Trump once worked as an escort, but later retracted its article.

Trump had filed suit in the U.K.’s High Court seeking damages of $150 million, but Reuters reported that the final settlement was worth less than $3 million.

The Mail published an apology on its web site admitting that it had republished allegations that she “provided services beyond simply modelling.”
“We accept that these allegations about Mrs Trump are not true and we retract and withdraw them. We apologise to Mrs Trump for any distress that our publication caused her.”
