SiriusXM has a back-to-school offer for returning students that could boost its subscription numbers.

The satellite radio service has unveiled a $4 monthly subscription plan to any verified students. That’s a 69% discount off of the service’s typical $12.99 monthly rate.

The “Student Premier” pack is also a shot across the bow at rival Spotify, as SiriusXM leverages its Pandora holding to let subscribers create personalized radio stations and listen to over 200 channels of ad-free music. They’ll also have access to news, talk, comedy, entertainment and sports programming, as well as two dedicated Howard Stern channels (and video).

Students can stream the SiriusXM app on smart phones and tablets, as well as devices including Amazon Echo and FireTV, Roku, Apple TV, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and their PC.

SiriusXM (SIRI) has over 34 million subscriber accounts, the majority of which listen to its programming in car radios. The $3.5 billion acquisition of Pandora gave it another point of entry with consumers and the company says the combined products reach over 100 million people. The company added 174,000 subscribers in the most recent quarter.
