Budweiser’s plans for galactic domination are well underway.

The brewer, which is already the largest on earth, hopes to be the first beer served on Mars when humanity reaches Mars. And it’s already learning how to brew in zero gravity.

Anheuser-Busch has been sending barley seeds to the International Space Station since 2017, reports the Orlando Sentinel. And on the next SpaceX resupply mission to the International Space Station, the company will conduct an experiment to help it learn more about the malting ability of those seeds in space. (Malting is a critical step in the beer making process.)

AB InBev, which has looked to different time periods before in its brewing vision, is working with CASIS, the Center for Advancement of Science in Space, a non-profit organization that manages the research facility on the ISS, on the project.

The mission is expected to take off from Cape Canaveral on Wednesday afternoon.

“Budweiser is always pushing the boundaries of innovation and we are inspired by the collective American Dream to get to Mars,” said Ricardo Marques, vice president, Budweiser upon launching the program two years ago. “We are excited to begin our research to brew beer for the red planet.”
