Trader Joe’s is recalling 10 of its ready-to-eat sushi meals, poke bowls and other foods after learning of a possible listeria contamination.
Fuji Foods makes a number of products for the boutique retailer. It has also recalled other items in several other stores, including 7-Eleven, Walgreens, Food Lion, Superior Foods, Hannaford, Giant Eagle Supermarkets, Bozzuto’s and Supreme Lobster.
Trader Joe’s is urging customers who have bought its California Rolls, Classic California Rolls with Brown Rice & Avocado, Spicy California Rolls, Tempura Shrimp Crunch Rolls, Tofu Spring Rolls, Shrimp Spring Rolls, Smoked Salmon Philly Roll, Smoked Salmon Poke Bowl, Banh Mi Inspired Noodle Bowl and the Queso Fundido Spicy Cheese Dip to discard the products or return them for a refund.
The recalled products, which are no longer on store shelves, were sold in Ala., Conn., Washington DC, Del., Fla., Ga., Iowa, Ind., Kan., Ky., Mass., Md., Maine, Mich., Minn.., Mont., N.C., Neb., N.H., N.J., N.Y., Ohio, Pa., R.I., S.C., Tenn., Va., Vt. And Wis.
This isn’t the first listeria outbreak this year, or even the first at Trader Joe’s. In July, the company and Green Giant vegetables faced a recall over possible contamination. In March, a California company recalled avocados in six states over a possible contamination. Listeria fears also impacted 300,000 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken and beef products last October. And it was detected in recalled frozen broccoli last May.
