The beer world is full of odd pairings, but it’s been a while since we’ve seen one this strange.

Pontoon Brewing Co., in Sandy Springs, Ga. Will roll out a new offering called Rainbow Smiggles in early February that was made with Trix and Skittles.

“We’re trying to keep the market well provided with interesting new flavors month after month,” said Chris Baratz, Pontoon Brewing’s head brewer in a statement. “Because of that, we like to push the limits and go to extremes to keep the brewers and customers excited about each new sour.”

Beyond the breakfast cereal and the candy, the Berliner Weisse will incorporate strawberries, pineapple, vanilla and lactose to add a fruit flavor and give the beer some acidity. Pontoon is no stranger to unusual sour beers, rolling out “Snozzberries Taste Like Snozzberries” last year and capturing the attention of national beer drinkers.

Unusual beers aren’t uncommon, but from time to time the brewers really indulge their mad scientist instincts. Five years ago, San Francisco’s 21st Amendment introduced Toaster Pastry, a beer meant as an homage to Pop Tarts (the brewery is located in a former Kellogg Co. Factory that used to make the popular treats). Colorado’s Black Bottle Brewery puts out a Count Chocula-flavored beer every fall. And Barrels and Bottles Brewery in Golden, CO has offered an extra special bitter brewed with Peeps, the colored marshmallow candy that marks the Easter season. (90 of them, to be specific.)

The king of strange beers, though, remains Iceland’s Brugghús Steðja, which makes Hvalur 2—a 5.2% ABV seasonal ale that incorporates the testicles of fin whales into the brewing process. And if that wasn’t weird enough, the testicles are smoked in dry sheep dung.
