If it’s too much trouble to get to your local Krispy Kreme, the doughnut shop is now willing to come to you.
Krispy Kreme will begin delivering doughnuts nationwide, starting on Feb. 29, a large-scale expansion of a trial that was started in select locations in 2018.
Orders can be made at the company’s Website or via the Krispy Kreme app. Delivery range will vary by store.
To mark the occasion, Krispy Kreme said it will deliver free doughnuts to dozens of hospitals on Leap Day to celebrate children born on that day. (Social media posts noting when the baby was delivered, the hospital, tagging Krispy Kreme and using the hashtag #KrispyKremeSpecialDelivery will receive five dozen doughnuts if they’re within 10 miles of a Krispy Kreme location.)
The delivery service is the latest promotion by the doughnut chain, which has been amping up its marketing arm of late. Last week, it unveiled a pair of new doughnuts that incorporated the Butterfinger candy bar.
The delivery service comes as McDonald’s explores the doughnut space and Dunkin’ (formerly Dunkin’ Donuts) turns heads with its coffee brands and the introduction of a beyond meat faux sausage breakfast sandwich.
