More free COVID-19 tests are coming to anyone who wants them.

President Joe Biden, as part of Tuesday’s State of the Union address, announced that starting next week, Americans would be able to order four additional tests per household, even if they’ve already received a shipment.

“Even if you already ordered free tests, tonight, I am announcing that you can order more from covidtests.gov starting next week,” Biden said.

COVID rates are down considerably across the nation, but healthcare officials are still urging people to test if they are exposed or show possible symptoms to keep rates low and prevent healthcare workers from being overwhelmed.

The initial roll-out of free COVID tests hit a few speed bumps, especially with people in apartments and condominiums. Here’s a quick reminder of how to navigate the system.

When can I order my next free COVID-19 tests?

The government’s website isn’t specific, saying new orders will be taken “starting next week”—but not clarifying whether new orders will begin Sunday, Monday or later.

How many free COVID tests can I get?

If you’ve previously ordered four tests, you will be able to order another four tests per household.

How will the free COVID tests be delivered?

The U.S. Postal Service will once again deliver the tests.

What if I can’t access the COVIDTests.gov website or have other problems?

After the problems with the first round of test distribution, the government set up a hotline for people with no internet access or having other issues.

If you need help, you can call 1-800-232-0233 (TTY 1-888-720-7489) to get help in English, Spanish, and more than 150 other languages. Phones are open from 8:00 a.m. To midnight ET, 7 days a week. A Disability Information and Access Line is also available to help people with disabilities place their orders. They can call 1-888-677-1199, Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. To 8:00 p.m. ET, or email [email protected].

I live in multifamily housing and am having trouble getting my free COVID test. What can I do?

Some residential addresses have multiple families living there, which caused some issues with delivery. If you’re in this situation, you can call 1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777) to get the issue fixed.

Can I get free at-home COVID-19 tests if I don’t have health insurance?

Yes. No credit card, health insurance information or ID is required to receive the free COVID tests.

How long will it take to receive the tests?

Tests typically ship within 7-12 days of ordering and are sent via First Class Mail. (Shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. Territories, and overseas military and diplomatic addresses will use Priority Mail.) You will, once again, have the option to provide an email address to get email notifications that include shipping updates.
