  • The Girl Scouts of the USAare retiring two cookie flavors in 2025. The S’mores and Toast-Yay! Flavors will be retired after this year, just as Raspberry Rally was sunsetted in 2024—a move that resulted in a robust secondary cookie market.

Another pair of Girl Scout cookie flavors are about to make their last ride.

2025 will be the last time the Girl Scouts of the USA sell the S’mores and Toast-Yay! Cookies. Both will be discontinued after this year. (Relax, Thin Mint and Trefoils fans—those aren’t going anywhere.)

The organization has not given an official announcement about the decision to sunset these cookies, but it regularly changes its lineup. In 2024 it bid adieu to the Raspberry Rally flavor, and fans of that cookie began throwing money at eBay resellers, who were charging, on average, $30 per box, though some listings topped $50 (with a $10 shipping charge tacked on).

At the time, a Girl Scouts spokesperson told Coins2Day the organization was “disappointed to see unauthorized resales of Girl Scout cookies online through third-party e-commerce platforms.”

S’mores, described as crunchy graham sandwich cookies with chocolate and marshmallow filling, made their debut in 2017.  Toast-Yay!, which are shaped like toast and have a French toast flavor, went on sale in 2021. And while these might not be on everyone’s list of favorites, in 2022, S’mores proved so popular there was a shortage of them in the Los Angeles area.

The Girl Scouts typically introduce one or two new cookie styles each year. In partnership with the program’s bakers, GSUSA determines new flavors by doing a market assessment and looking into flavors that could be popular or trending with consumers. Then it collaborates with bakers to develop a new recipe, name the cookie, design the product and packaging, and photograph it.

Cookies will go on sale this year beginning Feb. 21.
