  • Chipotle is giving away $1 million in burritos this summer. The chain will give Rewards members 10,000 free burritos each week through Aug. 31.

Beach-body season could be more challenging this summer as Chipotle has kicked off its summer promotion, giving away over $1 million in free burritos starting today.

The Summer of Extras promo will run through Aug. 31, with 10,000 free burritos given away each week. To qualify, you simply need to join the company’s rewards program. Opt into the Summer of Extras promotion and the free food could appear at random.

In the meantime, regular visits to Chipotle could put you in the running for an even bigger prize. Each month, members who have opted in to this promotion will receive bonus points and entries into a sweepstakes. Four milestone levels can earn you up to 60 entries and 650 bonus points (which can be redeemed for free food).

So what are those entries for? At the end of the summer, the company will give away 49 of its rare stainless-steel gift cards, which grants the holder free burritos for a year. (One card will be given in each of the 48 states Chipotle operates—as well as the District of Columbia.)

“‘Summer of Extras’ kicks off our most rewarding summer ever through a gamified experience that rewards and recognizes our top guests,” said Curt Garner, chief customer and technology officer at Chipotle. “Visiting more this summer can enable members to earn free Chipotle faster.”

The stainless-steel card shouldn’t be confused with Chipotle’s Celebrity Card. That coveted item—which was first issued to Ozzy Osborne, after he sang the praises of the fast-casual restaurant chain on his then-hit reality show—entitles holders to one free meal a day at the restaurant as well as catering for up to 50 people once a year.

The company offered those to customers last year, though instead of those giveaways being good for the life of the cardholder, they were good for only one year.
