China is an important–and tricky–region for Nike. The Greater China market was once a key market for the company, yet sluggish consumer spending and stiff competition from both domestic and international brands is eroding Nike’s foothold in the Chinese market. Angela Dong, a P&G and Coca-Cola alum, is now navigating this more complicated market. Last year, Nike opened a research lab to help develop products exclusively for Chinese consumers.
