EOG Resources is an independent oil and gas company that explores for, develops, produces, and markets crude oil, natural gas liquids, and natural gas, with operations primarily in the U.S. and in Trinidad and Tobago. EOG is known as an industry trendsetter in the onshore U.S. shale industry, specifically in the Permian Basin, South Texas’s Eagle Ford Shale, and, most recently, Ohio’s Utica Shale. Formerly known as Enron Oil & Gas, the company was spun off in 1999, prior to its parent Enron’s downfall.
