StoneX Group, a financial services company previously known as INTL FCStone, operates a network of digital trading platforms and reported blockbuster revenue growth in 2022, boosting it 28 spots on this year’s list.

 	<li>StoneX brought in $66 billion in revenue in 2022, up 55% from the year prior. Its profits skyrocketed too, reaching $207 million, up 78% from the year prior.</li> 
 	<li>The company’s client base expanded significantly in 2022, and its multi-asset trading platform benefited from rising interest rates and a tumultuous market.</li> 
 	<li>From 2020 to 2022, the company grew its earnings per share by 30%.</li>

Aggregate sales hit $37.8 trillion last year—an increase of 19%, the highest annual growth rate in the list’s history.

This year’s Fortune 500 marks the 68th running of the list.

StoneX Group specializes in commercial hedging, global payments, foreign exchange, and the trading of securities and physical commodities. Although its top-line revenue numbers plunged, in part because of the way the company reports revenue from commodity sales, StoneX Group grew its operating revenue by 28% in 2021.

Total revenue for the world’s biggest companies fell 4.8% to $31.7 trillion this year—the first decline in half a decade.

This brokerage and commodity trading services company, which recently changed its name from INTL FCStone, had a record year in 2019, thanks in part to a jump in interest income driven by a flurry of fixed-income trading activity. Revenue increased by 19%, helped by a handful of acquisitions of payments and securities companies. The company's profits, meanwhile, jumped by more than 53% from its 2018 tally, helped along by insurance proceeds that let it recover some losses in its physical coal business.

The company's profits, meanwhile, jumped by more than 53% from last year's tally, helped along by insurance proceeds that let it recover some losses in its physical coal business.
